A well known Historian of Modern Art, in his book dedicated to Contemporary Art titled “Perdita del centro “ ( The Loss of the centre ), analized the reasons why in Art in the last centuries often the centrality of the artistical element seems lost. Still today, many works of art are not easily understood at first glance by the observer, who often abandons because of this difficulty.
In ancient times, this could not happen as Philosophy was inherently linked to the piece.
Humanism was the utmost example of this.
And in spite our frequent difficulty in appreciating some modern works of art, there ia a large number of Artists who continue to send messages through their creations, with passion and talent.
This exhibition is certainly one of those cases, where works of art can be understood and appreciated. Urbinati , master in wooden art, fully succeeds in this, taking visitors by hand and explaining with his works the“ life “ which can be seen and felt in every one of them.
In times like these, in which we look for spiritual activity, pieces like the ones in question, can only support our point of view.
His creations are reminders of a time which has become theme. A passion for wood and the sea, vehicles of transport and surprise, rooted in the artist’s childhood.
